The Order of the Knights of Pythagoras is an organization composed of youths from ages eight to eighteen years inclusive, working under the sponsorship and personal supervision of Prince Hall Masons, to provide beneficial use of their spare time, worthwhile companions, wholesome, educational environment and a program aiming to interest and aid youths, in their all-around development. This movement, originally the Chivalric Order of Knight Companions, was commenced by Masons representing the Grand Jurisdiction of Kansas and Colorado, in a Conference held November 19, 1938. Adopted as the Order of the Knights or Pythagoras on May 10, 1951.

Objectives of Knights of Pythagoras 

  • To motivate members of the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras.
  •  To develop a sense of achievement and accomplishment.
  •  To help monitor member progress and provide support and encouragement.
  •  To increase participation in community service activities.
  •  To focus on academic progress, church attendance and community service.
  •  To promote and give more Youths the opportunities to fully believe in self, set goals and achievements.

Prince Hall Masonry is a separate Masonic Organization of men. Almost all the 275,000 members are Black Americans. Nearly all other Masons are White Americans.

Masonry, also called Freemasonry, is the name of one of the oldest and largest Fraternal Organizations in the world. The organization's official name is Free and Accepted Masons.

Why one should be a Knight of Pythagoras

The Order's selectivity makes his admission a testimonial to his good character and fitness. He will belong to the National Brotherhood to which nearly every state in the United States and elsewhere Prince Hall Lodges meet, young men has become members. His membership will automatically enlist the commendation of the Leaders in your community as one who seeks out proper companionship and activities. He will immediately have a strong tie of mutual interest with hundreds of other Knights in cities and towns located throughout Prince Hall Jurisdictions.
