Coastal Region held its first virtual regional day (showcase) on Saturday, March 13, 2021.

28 Mar 2021 by Robert Hassell

This was an awesome, enjoyable and successful event. Coastal Region wore white to demonstrate unity, balance, hope, new beginnings, restoration, encouragement, value and appreciation.

Our youth showed up and showed out as they recited poems and oratorical, danced, sung, and displayed their art. It was an honor to be among a diverse and accomplished group of youths. The youth did an amazing job presiding, establishing protocol, reading the scripture, giving the opening and closing prayer and remarks. There were some youths that showed their support by attending the Showcase. We had a dynamic motivational speaker Past Master Knight, Pastor Joshua Robinson who was a great inspiration to the youth and adults. Pastor Robinson talked about having the right ingredients to persevere. We can’t forget the DJ with a blast from the past that set the mood for the day.

Appreciation gifts were presented to Gleaner Alexis Robertson and Knight Henry Thurman for doing an exceptional job presiding. Also a plaque was presented to Past Coastal Region Co-chair Rosalind Edge who served for 10 years.

The Coastal Region is thankful that the NC Youth Department leaders, Bro. Robert Hassell, KOP Director, Sis. Geraldine Langford, Grand Youth Directress, Sis. Beverly Richardson, Assistant Grand Youth Directress and Sis. Pam Woods, Grand Youth Secretary, for their attendance. We were also grateful that our Grand Worthy Matron Mary McGhee and the Most Worshipful Grand Master Daniel L. “DT” Thompson supported us, gave praises and encouraging words to our youth!

Coastal Region could not have had a dynamic Regional Day/Showcase without God, the youth, Supervisors, Advisors, Special Deputy, Deputies, family and friends. We are thankful for everyone who attended; peace and blessings to you! Thanks again for being the wind beneath the youths wings!
